Pediatric healthcare is underfunded. Funds raised at Valvoline Instant Oil Change this November helps close this funding gap and positively change the health children in local communities for years to come. When we ensure our children can lead healthy, fulfilling lives, we foster the scientists, inventors, artists, and leaders of tomorrow. Thank you, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, for changing kids’ health, to change the future for kids like Terrell.

Before he was born, doctors discovered during an ultrasound that Terrell’s foot had been amputated, likely due to a condition called amniotic band syndrome (ABS). Terrell was born feisty and strong, but premature. As expected, his right foot had been amputated, but his family also learned that his right fingers were webbed, and he had a clubfoot on his left foot.

Terrell’s journey included multiple casts and braces to move his left foot to the correct position, surgery to correct the webbing between his fingers, therapies and prosthesis fittings to learn how to walk. Throughout, he has been and continues to be a very vibrant, courageous, strong young man with a big heart.

His grandmother said, “Terrell is now 5 years old and when asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he said ‘I want to be a doctor so I can help people with their legs and so they won’t be sick.’”

Since 2009, Valvoline Instant Oil Change has raised $3.5 million in life-saving funds to local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through employee and customer donations.
